Summary:

Full of character and fun, this maths based alien themed game is aimed at Preschool and Reception.

Full of character and fun, this game based maths app is aimed at Preschool and Reception.  The design and characters are very appealing. All of these activities are introduced and played with the help of some quirky, bright and bold aliens who are soon to be your buddies!

A particular favourite is the matching activity: the player matches letters, shapes, colours and numbers by dragging the correct alien to its corresponding pod thus saving him! There are also jigsaw puzzles and dot to dots to complete which are equally entertaining and alien themed.

Key concepts covered include:

  • Number, shape & letter recognition
  • Problem solving
  • Sequential counting

An extra element which is good fun is the Stickers section where you can create a number of spacescapes which can then be stored in your Photos.  A great reward at the end of a challenging game!

Educational value

  • Promotes correct sequencing of numbers
  • Helps with fine motor skills
  • A supportive tool to back up teaching of key mathematical concepts in Reception

Ease of use

  • Some guidance when he was 3
  • Independent use when he was 4
